Katie grew up in South Florida and always had a passion for children and animals. Katie attended Villanova University and she received her Master’s Degree in Child Health at Florida International University. Currently, she works part-time doing virtual health, as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. Katie chose to practice medicine doing virtual health, to give her time to take care of her rescue animals. She has taken her passion for children and combined it with her passion for animals. In 2021, she saved the life of two abandoned puppies, nurtured them back to life, and found their forever homes. That experience made Katie redefine her passion for saving animals and she decided to focus on saving more dogs and to educate and assist those in need of rehoming their animals. Katie, her husband, and her two children relocated to Rabun County, GA,.in 2022, and as a family they've continued to foster animals, take care of newborn puppies and assist in finding the animals forever homes. Over time, her medical background helps her provide nurturing care for the puppies, the sick, and special needs dogs. In Rabun County, there is a great need in the community to assist with finding affordable services for neutering, spaying, and fostering dogs. In October 2022, Katie and her family assisted in rescuing Annabelle, a dog, whose health was failing after giving birth to 7 puppies in an abandoned lot. Katie assisted in nurturing Annabelle back to health and all 7 puppies were adopted. Annabelle has become a part of their family. In October 2022, Katie partnered with Danielle and created the Georgia Chapter of “ A Dogs Tale”, to continue to rescue and provide aid to animals in need in North Georgia.
